Operation Eagle Claw

It's interesting that Operation Eagle Claw has made the news again over here.

President Carter (who sadly appears to be terminally ill) was asked if he would have done anything differently during his Presidency, he replied that he would have sent one more helicopter on the rescue attempt thereby making success likely.

My understanding of the operation was that a lot more could have gone wrong had the operation gone ahead as planned. From an aviation perspective it always seemed ambitious, not sure if one more chopper would have made that much of a difference. Interesting that he chose that moment of his time in the White House to focus on.
