75th Anniversary BoB Flypast : Goodwood : 15th Sep 2015

I thought it best to start a specific thread regarding this forthcoming event rather than stretch the one already covering the Biggin Hill event earlier this week. Just to help members who are thinking about attending

Let's hope the WX is good as the noise alone will be epic

Considering that all versions of the Spitfire from the Mk II onwards (90% of the BoB Flypast Spitfires) were produced at the Castle Bromwich Aircraft Factory, I'm disappointed that none of those routes come nearby

Still trying to think of some link that might bring them to the Vendee, or indeed Charente-Maritime, where RAFA Sud Ouest France will be holding a BoB commemoration lunch on Tuesday - particularly galling, as two of the "sections" will overfly Lymington, where I used to live - RATS!!

Nice to see that they remembered to invite a Blenheim.

Be good if a Gladiator was there as well.

Sadly, no chance of a Defiant!

I have little doubt but that all will go well. Strangely Mrs W's ex husband is also undergoing open heart surgery today, predicated by radiation therapy for cancer when a teenager

I am sure that we all look forward to seeing you back

Nutty ...

You make sure the nursing staff have a WiFi router set up as you'll be required back on here ASAP ...

Seriously ... I'm sure all will go well for you ... These Human Engineers are almost as good as you Aviation Engineers. Might help if you take along your own borescope

Nice pics ...

Just make sure they use their Shadow Boards, it'd be a bugger if they left a GS in there.

Good luck . . . speedy recovery.

I hope you haven't made the mistake my father made and asked for your piles to be done at the same time. He admittted later it was a very foolish decision!

Good luck

I hope that the aircraft are well-picketed as the weather for today looks potentially damaging, according to the BBC forecast.....

Best of luck for the 15th!

Forgive a question based on minor pedantry: news is reporting this as " the biggest gathering of Spitfires and Hurricanes since World War 2". Is it? Wouldn't more have been gathered during the filming of The Battle of Britain?

I appreciate the answer doesn't matter one iota, just settles my curiosity.
