The Term "Service with the RAF"

I am currently arguing with the Veterans Agency trying to get my pension for a period of 5 months that I spent in "Service with The RAF" during 1997, while my FTRS contract was being sorted.

The terms of service were in AP400B-001 Leaflet 303, however VA are saying they cannot find a copy of this document and are in denial the the term ever existed.

If anyone can tell me where I might find a copy of the AP or any other document that would help my case I would greatly appreciate it.

It's not the money, but the principle that is winding me up.

If it helps, it is not AP400B-001 but AP400B-0001. If they were being pedantic they could deny all knowledge of the former as not existing.

My FTRS commenced in Feb 00. IIRC, AP3392 (Vol 7?) was in use then.

That engaged my interest!

Umpteen years WITH, never IN ............. typical for a Met Man.

Uxbridge, Nicosia, Leeming, Topcliffe, Middleton St George, Acklington, Dishforth, Church Fenton, Guetersloh, Bawtry, JHQ, JHQ again ............... Brize.

In contrast to my other jobs ["broadens the knowledge base, helps the CV, somebody has to do it ..............."] I can claim to have enjoyed all the WITHs.

Thanks for that reference. They can find all of that, but not the document that would prove my case

In order to be quoting it yourself, presumably you are in possession of some official letter or other document which refers to AP400B-0001 Leaflet 303? If so, that makes it more difficult for VA to deny its existence.

The Forces Pension Society may be able to help.

Isn't it a shame the VA aren't on 'our' side!

I've just asked them for assistance in getting a MoD department of their arse, the VA weren't interested.

They just referred me to the dept that I was complaining about.

Lost pension

As ever I may be corrected but as I recall we were all contracted out of SERPS then so telling them you want a service pension might affect your state pension so make sure which works out best for you
