I saw 4 fly over Cirencester in formation this morning heading East. A nice sound. I operated alongside them on the Wessex in NI for many years and felt safer for having them in Mutual Support. Sadly all things come to the end!

Ahh, the pleasure of having hot engine oil drip on you whilst refuelling them at R850, such memories...
Still, when the RAF's finest started waving a note from their mum's when the weather turned a bit iffy you could usually rely on a Lynx getting through to G40 with the mail.

Was in G40 when a Lynx followed the water pipe up the hill to drop off the mail whilst in cloud...that was about two days before one wrapped its tail around barbed wire on R23! Ah memories....it was watching a full screw performing flying wizardry ( I knew layer to be torque matching!!!!) that prompted me to put my papers in....lucky air corps

The Hairy Arm Corps has a record of getting the wrong size of kit, not helped by CrabAir throwing hissy fits and demanding the low weight limits be maintained. Perhaps this will only be resolved when all the armed services lose their identities and integrate into a unified force. Mind you, those that have tried that particular route have been less than ecstatic with the result!
