Notamed closed 15th July.

And the forecast for regions south of AKT, sunny with no spells of raining lead today.

"However due to the serious incident flights have been cancelled from the Akoritiri base. The runway has been cornered for safety."

I want to know how they cornered the runway. With a chair and a whip? A net and a trident? Ferrets and a whippet?

Is this a new role for the Rocks?

Two missiles detached themselves from a fighter aircraft Tornado GR4 while landing at RAF Akoritiri on Wednesday during military exercises.
Heck of a hard landing? Presumably the very short 'flight' time was insufficient for anything to become active - phew! Still, I imagine anyone tasked with recovering them will be approaching them very slowly and with fingers firmly in their ears just in case...

On the plus side, it represents a rare opportunity for plumbers to carry out an an afterflight!

To drop one brimstone is unfortunate to drop two in this situation seems careless.

Willard White -not bad, but I saw the co-pilot of a B52 calculating the take off run during his pre-flight planning once. Can't remember the details, but I remember the curvature of the earth came into it somewhere

Surprised nobody from tin triangles has bitten!

The RAF and MOD has some questions to answer now.

Like, why the hell was £210,000 wasted? I could have bought a car with that!

I'll get my coat.

TTN: Yes indeed, I believe they used to get airborn out of Guam by heading over Pati Point and waiting for the ground to drop 618' to sea level
