Hungarian AF JAS-39D in landing accident...

Noticed this on another forum and haven't seen it posted elsewhere, it happened yesterday. The Gripen appears to have had braking problems(?) on landing and overran the runway, both crew ejected safely.

Two more saves for M-B and two more members for their exclusive club shortly to be proud wearers of two rather exclusive watches and ties!

Wander00: Like when you take the car to the garage, squadron Eng Off, inward drawing of breath and shakes head in anticipation of delivering a large bill.

Fantastic the crew are safe.

Over ran quite a bit ! Did it go around the orange thingies or between them and slice off some of the wing I wonder - the orange thingies don't appear to be damaged or leaning over ?

looks like it tracked to the left of the lights going by the marks just off the runway. the other tracks look like emergency vehicle / crash tender tracks

Until the second picture was shown, it looked like they had done it on purpose, to draw the image beloved of Top Gear wheelspinners...
