Heavy ac plus 8 x fast jet over Lincs this morning?

Someone I vaguely know and so added as a Facebook friend has posted about seeing a large airliner-type aircraft and eight or so 'jet fighters' together in the Fosdyke area this morning. I suggested it was probably a flypast practice involving a Voyager, but he appears to have some rather excitable FB friends who are convinced it must be some massive military response to a hijack threat, or Air Force One plus half the USAF, or some other such rather unlikely explanation.

So, any formation or flypast practice been going on in that area lately?

There was a fast, low jet over frinton around 1.30 this afternoon (rushed outside on hearing it but it was long gone ) was that linked? - it is an unfortunately rare occurence round here so if he/she/they would like to come back so I can see if I can identify the type it would be very welcome!

It was a super-secret, hush-hush mission, so your FB Friends were right.

Tip-top secret!

Gliderkev, I heard the same aircraft not long after that. It sounded like a Typhoon. I'm not sure why it was so low, though... maybe around 5,000 feet when it flew over me. Unfortunately, I didn't see it myself although I was told burners were ignited - he must have been in a hurry!

I'll bet they don't stop 4 overnights and tank 13 times to get there!

Lets see - he asks about aircraft seen over the UK the morning of 14 January 2015, and someone says they were aircraft that were filmed en-route to the western US before the 7th of January 2014, as this video of one of the in-flight refuelings was posted to youtube on 7 January 2015.
