Looking forward to it. I love the lines of the first generation two seat harrier (some think it ugly).

Art Nalls has done a great job keeping the first generation (Sea)Harrier alive. Yes I know several services still fly the AV8B and the Indian Sea Harriers, but the early GR1/3/ AV8A, Sea Harriers and the trainer versions of these have a certain appeal.

In other articles I believe that Art was quite adamant that prior Harrier experience would be a pre-requisite for any pilots flying his (Sea)Harrier aircraft. He and his alternate pilots had quite a bit of AV8A/C or AV8B experince. I don't think he plans to sell slots to your average Cessna 172 jockey, but this would help train others transitioning, or getting reaquainted, on the first generation (Sea)Harrier.

Seems by all acounts the Sea Harrier is the best of the bunch from a pilot's perspective.

“Our next civilian pilot will be awarded her type rating very soon.” added Nalls. “She has nearly 1,000 hours of Harrier flight time, combat experience and was a Weapons and Tactics Instructor while serving in the United States Marine Corps. She is currently a LtCol in the Marine Corps reserves.” said Nalls.
Probably someone Art flew with in the USMC.

Thumbs up

Looks like QQs T bird. Nice to see it going to a good home. Wonder if the VAAC will ever fly again? Well done Art.
