You could try trawling through the Duty Roster and Guest Lists here - some e-mail addresses may still be valid: The Duty Roster - RAF Upper Heyford, England

I keep in touch with an F1-11 Pilot from the mid 70s.

If you PM me your details, I'll pass them to him.

I also have some items from a visit to the NCO's Mess at Heyford, including a sachet of sugar and a flyer for events to be held during October 1976.

I wrote an article some years back about the 48th TFW and their F-111s.

I still have some e-mail contacts.

PM with some background on you, your project, etc and I'll forward it to them.

Up to them if they want to play or not.

They used to use Tain a lot in the 80's, we still have part of the undercarriage door from the one that crashed into Loch Eye.

Out of interest, what is your research about and for?

I got really excited by the Heyford link because I'm trying to contact Steve 'Rabbit' Barrett, ex F-111 and TWCU. He's listed but, of course, his email has lapsed.

If anyone is in contact with Rabbit I'd love a PM.

F-111 aircrew

Hi Courtney Mil,

I am in the early stages of researching the F-111 for an article, hopefully to be published in early next year for the 50th anniversary of the first flight of the F-111. Makes you feel old when you read that last bit doesn't it?

I am hoping to get responses from F-111 pilots and ground crew.

I was on the same TWCU course as Rabbit but, that was in 1984 and, for me, e-mail hadn't been invented.
