Dunno, but remember hearing that the Valiants (minus engines and electronics) went for scrap @ £75 per hulk.

I think the Nimrods went for 20K without engines and 30K with, it amazed me, because by the time they had sent the guys and equipment, engine stands and tools etc to the site, spent a few days taking them out, then had to ship everything back, they wouldn't have much if any change from that 10 grand, even with the pittance they probably got for the engines.

What use would ex-Nimrod Speys be anyway, other than a sectioned engine for instructional purposes, or a museum exhibit? Can they be recycled for special alloys and thus have a significant scrap value?

So.......if you don't get the extra cash for the scrap...how much worse off would you be?

Put one near the main gate; if the pikeys haven't nicked it in 2 days, the answer is no.
