Charity Sea King Rotor Blade Artwork Auction for The Jon Egging Trust

Good Afternoon Ladies & Gents,

As some of you may know, The Jon Egging Trust was set up to engage with disadvantaged youths to provide them with opportunities that they otherwise might not get.

Flt Lt Egging tragically lost his life whilst flying with the Red Arrows on 20th August 2011 at Bournemouth Air Show.

You can read more about the amazing work of the trust below:
About - joneggingtrust

Next week, a group of 15 cyclists (6 RAF Pilots, 6 Metropolitan Police and 3 Civilians) will depart from Scotland Yard in London, via RAF Scampton, RAF Marham, and RAF Shawbury, with the finish at RAF Valley, Anglesey, covering 400 miles in 4 days. It will culimate in a Hangar Party at RAF Valley with live bands, comedians and other acts.

As part of this event, a Sea King Rotor Blade has been painted by a young artist, Emily Speakman. You can see some of Emily's other work here:
Home - Emily Speakman Art Welsh teenage artist from north Wales.

Emily, who is now 16, has painted a fantastic scene of an RAF SAR Sea King conducting wet winching of a survivor near the famous Llandudno Pier in North Wales. Despite the technical difficulty of painting on such a unique "canvas", as well as fitting it in around revising for her exams, she has produced an absolutely stunning piece of art, which she has kindly donated to be auctioned to raise money for the Jon Egging Trust.

Here is a link to the auction:

This is a really rare opportunity - so far as we know, this is unique; nobody has painted a scene onto a rotor blade before.

Further, a great amount of research is being done into the history of this particular blade - which aircraft it was used on, where that aircraft served, who flew it, and if we can, any notable rescues it was involved in.

Please spread the word people; the money made from its sale will go straight to the Trust so they can continue their incredible work with youths who otherwise might miss out.

Thanks so much for your time,

Matt.
