23rd May is the day before the two day Duxford show. It could be worth contacting 'SallyB 'B.17 organisation, who may just be doing a test flight on the Friday???????

At 1200 Friday for a start..will be one excuse.

Not a chance. Too near weekend for the vast majority. The UK military is just becoming too small, too expensive to run and thus too distant from the people it supposes to serve.
You'd only get some interest if it involved the Royal Family and a senior officer, or there was requirement to drop a senior officer off at a private country house for a party, or undersling load his quad bike from the ship to his house on the Isle of Man.....

Big sigh from Mrs W. She saw the thread title and went to get all my past issues of Flypast magazine parcelled up to send to whoever wanted them. Hope you manage to get something organised though

Hangarshuffle

If memory serves me correctly you are (were) in the Dark Blue yes?
In my experience it has only ever been the Navy and F3 force (for serviceability reasons) that celebrated POETS day.
If I weren't currently based 4000 miles away I'd offer to do it myself. If you haven't already asked try giving a ring to either of the Valley Sqns (if the T2 has full land away clearance yet?!). Someone looking to take a jet to Northolt or somewhere similar for the weekend might be able to do it on the way. Linton may be a similar bet but I'm not overly familiar with their modus operandi.
I hate to see a flypast request go unfulfilled, especially for such a good cause, but sadly cannot help myself.
Best of luck.

No connection with them but perhaps contact the Hangar 11 Collection at North Weald.

Try the official way and drop a line to RAF Ceremonial at RAF Northolt.

If you would like to request a flypast please download and complete the Flypast application form and send it to:

e-mail [email protected].

Being on a Friday you have a fighting chance, but Media Engagement features high on the radar of the corridors of power, and a 'Mates rates' deal stands stands a good chance of getting someone with a can-do attitude in deep doo-doo, especially if covered by the Press. Sadly thats the way it is in the military - our civilian beatheren will have much more lattitude.

Looks like you have already done the official route indicated by Yozzer for BBMF; they do get in the order of 2000 requests and can only do a limited number as flying hours are limited.

The Red Arrows will not be back in the country until 31 May and requests for flypasts have to be with them by 31 March, so that's probably a no-go.

Good luck with your search.
