Patrouille Suisse could fly F-18 Hornet
Two weeks ago, the Swiss Defense Minister announced that Patrouille Suisse aerobatic team could fly F/A-18 Hornet aircraft from 2016, when the present team plane F-5 Tiger will be retired. However, this depends from the new order for 22 Gripen fighters, which will be determinate by referendum at the end of May.

To be honest I really doubt it will happen... The grippen will most likely not be accepted (regardless of its qualities or lack of) and the Swiss military will be left with a very limited inventory of flying material...

Seriously, though, do they really want to burn hours and G on their limited real assets? The "could" fly their few operational aircraft, but it seems a rather silly idea. But then what do I know? I was never a Defence Minister or a CAS.
