75% Scale Tucano Anyone?

Never, ever, thought I'd see this. Some guys in Italy have built and flown a 75% scale Tucano. Lord knows why...

Tucano | Flying Legend | Warbird replica

I really like the Hurricane they have reproduced, though...

As you say, LJ, an odd subject the Tucano, but the Hurricane looks quite good, IMHO

Not sure the Meccano counts as a "Flying Legend" though.

Coff

Here's an even better one for mere mortals...the microlight. Mustang!

FK-Lightplanes

It even comes with a sound system that reproduces the sound of a Merlin that changes as you move the throttle!!! Apparently €109,000 or about £85k.

Sound systems have been in use in scale RC aircraft for a few years now, a couple of large speakers in the cowl connected to the throttle via a sound board. Very realistic, quite a few good examples on youtube.

I quite like that Tucano, it's one of the few scale replicas that looks in proportion to the full size. Probably better made too!
