Blimey, that was quick. Then again, it may be wishful thinking by their somewhat excitable media.

Re its size, how many PAX can it carry internally, and in how many classes?

It was indeed fast. But then, espionage aside, they could watch our own -ups from open sources and avoid them. It's called "second-mover advantage".

Also, Chengdu's engineering team was full of people with fresh experience of developing a brand-new fighter, which is a situation that the West has managed to avoid since the 1970s.
