F-15 video

2012 Raytheon Award Video from Jersey on Vimeo

Interesting F-15 vid. Accompanying music starts out good then goes downhill.

I'm sure the gray hairs will tear it apart for this or that. The rest can just enjoy it for what it is.

It's an excellent video.
I've just spent a couple of hours preparing a talk for a cadet group based on it. You may think it goes downhill, but because the audio is authentic, it is possible to reconstruct the engagement. Well, it is if you've done DACT

How the hell you even manage to see the hostile jets in that great big sky until the merge still amazes me.
Especially against overcast like that.

Some audience kibitizing:

They show clips of the mighty E-3 as the GCI provider, but the callsign in the DACT providing said GCI is "Vice Squad," the USAF ground element assigned at the JASDF ground radar station on Okinawa.

Also, way back in the 1990s when I was in the 961st AWACS at RODN, even then the F-15s assigned were old. The 67FS, the "Fighting Cocks," referred to themselves as "Jurassic Cocks."

Brought some pleasant memories back watching and listening to the calls.
