International Association of Turtles.....

Have found a membership card for the above whilst further investigating the exploits of a relative that served on Lancaster bombers during WW2.
Fairly easy to Google and get basic info on this group and how it started.
However, does anybody know if it was large in number or was it a select band of invitation only people?
The challenge and password that i have found on the internet were still in use at ULAS when i was a stude in the 90's.
Is there a ____ in the house.........You bet your sweet ass there is!
Did i spend years echoing my WW2 forbears without knowing?

1974 Vintage Turtle

As a visitor to the 'O' Club NAS Miramar - date shown on card I was handed for that chapter then. Not only YBYSAIA but 'you bet your sweet bippy' for 'Laugh In' fans of that era. And a former TurtelSupreme of that era below with similar sign shown from space (poor quality pic on left).

Thanks Ricardian,
I saw that and was interested to see that it has become a huge charity worldwide thing. I am more interested in the initial gatherings. Seems to have been a small group of military aviators in a uk pub during a time of enormous stress forming a club to let off steam with brothers in arms.
Fascinating.
