Digital Mil Aviation Artwork

I came across this guys work (Peter van Stist) and thought a few members might be interested ... given that a "strategic" mention now might save the inevitable gift of socks yet again next month

Quite a few RAF subjects ...

Lightning, Jaguar, Phantom, Tornado, Typhoon, Vulcan ...

Stunning, I went through them all, although there must be a collapsing Star or a black hole the other side of that hill to make a Jag look that fast

Maybe they saw the F4 this time!

Must say though - after a little experimentation on the facebook page, I have found a couple of suitable screensavers!

All very well but no Argosy
Dunno about the Jag but ISTR being told that a light B757 had better perf than the Tornado (and then they restricted us to 20deg pitch )

Check out this work, slightly more traditional but for my money, more impactful because of it. I really like the smokin' SR71 and the silver Canberra ones. Good online ordering process as well, and well priced.

I can also recommend Adam Tooby, who does the superb box art for Airfix:

The Finest Hour Art About Us Page

website layered pages

There are some very talented people out there. Unfortunately I can't draw for toffee; the last time I tried to draw a Spitfire it looked more like a hurricane (and I don't mean the fighter plane).

Digital Mil. Artwork

I agree with Nutloose - stunning. Does anyone know what digital artwork is? Did the Lightning piccie, for example, originate from a photo or was it started from scratch? I'd be very interested to find out. Very impressive though.

Try this one. There's a lot of talented amateurs out there producing CGI images and movies just for fun...

Thank you Coffman, I'll just freshen my drink before the lessons.
