XV303

Apropos nothing but curiosity, I had a look in my log books to see when and how XV 303 featured.

Last time: 1979 - January 16th - Route checked from Gander to Nassau

but the first time was;

1968 - July 25th - Fairford - Gander (on Pond Jump)

Crikey - that's a long ago!

XV303 has passed through Prestwick this evening. A Gas and Go on the way home ? Feel free to keep sending your Hercs to Prestwick - we don't complain about noise !

A glance through my Father's log book shows XV303 spent an inordinate amount of time plodding between Lyneham and Marham during the '70s. Any reason that a given airframe would get the same route so often?

First flew it in June 1975 with that doyen of flight deck humour, John Hardwick whilst I was on a Route Check to Luqa. Last time in 1987.

Long time ago . . . still, all things must pass.
