Buccaneer on the move

Gents

Tomorrow will see Buccaneer XV168 start its journey, by road, from BAe Brough to the meseum at Elvington. This will be Elvingtons third Buccaneer.

I last flew XV 168 on 8 Mar 1993 - I think it was roled as a Buddy Buddy Tanker a versatile aircraft! Happy days!

Just dusted off an older Log Book to find that my first sortie in XV 168 was on 2 Dec 1971 - Exercise Highwood - a night formation sortie where we refuelled from a Victor, tossed a Lepus Flare and attacked HMS Penelope under the flare. Sortie length 2hrs 35mins.

A fine Buccaneer in Gulf/Desert livery used to stand guard at Dublin Weston, hopefully it is still there. The Catalina got chopped and the DC-3 went to India.

Debbie (XV863/'S') does indeed still stand guard at The National Flight Centre, Weston Airport. Her future now looks a lot brighter after recent events.

Still missing a few instruments but I'm sure they'll turn up from somewhere.....
Her ARTF has lasted a little longer than originally intended and she could do with a little TLC but still very much in 1 piece.
