Happy Birthday your Majesty
Just a few screen grabs for those members overseas and who may not yet be able to view the BBC broadcast earlier today.
Must have been at least a 25/30 Kts head wind ... but the formation arrived bang on mark ... well done everyone
Great shame the Lanc was unescorted
Best ...

A well-flown flypast, despite very challenging, turbulent conditions.
The arrival back at Brize looked good - the VC10 / TriStar pair in particular.
Nice to have heard the Sound of Freedom again!
Well done, everyone!

Yes, just watched the highlights programme as otherwise engaged this morning. Fantastic parade, and a great flypast, and a lovely shot of the Paris Air Attache walking down the Mall with the French Air Attaché. Good evening JM.
Must do something about the dust in the air this evening

Just watched the Flypast on Beeb2 HD. Superb in all respects. Having been involved in the prep for a couple of flypasts for the Queen on her birthday over the years, it is always a very special event for me.
Wander00, Strange how the dust on the TV cabinet always seems to affect my eyes also when I watch.

Thank you Coffman Starter for your screen grabs, I am one of those less fortunate though I immediately came to PPRune (did not even look elsewhere) anticipating some kindly soul might have posted something. Pretty good show given the scant resources these days. Again, thanks.

Where is the Rolling eyes smillie when you need it
Sorry i'm a bit p1ssed - Celebrating the Queens Birthday you know
Some lovely shots of the QBF as it passed over RAF Halton airfield for their Families' Day celebrating their 'Centenary of Flight' (1913-2013). I've posted links to the sites as I know how twitchy some aviation enthusiast get about copyright:
FighterControl ? Home to the Military Aviation Enthusiast ? View topic - Queens Birthday Flypast RAF Halton 15th June 2013
And
Halton:100th Anniversary / Families Day 15-6-13
Other aircraft added to the spectacle at Halton including a JP5 doing a magnificent display, a Miles Hawk Speed 6 that also displayed at Silverstone, a very brave Tiger Moth pilot flying DE470 in very challenging winds and the RV8ors Display Team.

An etiquette question which I can't fathom out. Why was practically everyone in the Royal Family in uniform except HRH Prince Andrew. Perhaps he was not in the parade? Even so. Perhaps he can't get into it any more
Sorry sir!

IIRC the only uniforms worn by members of the Royal family were those of the Guards Division or Household Cavalry. The Duke of York does not hold any honorary appointments within the Guards Division or Household Cavalry.

Prince Edward wasn't in guards uniform but was wearing the uniform of The London Scottish (a territorial regiment attached to the Household Division) of which he is the honorary colonel. Covered two years ago here:

Nothing to add to the comments on the flypast, but just like to say that the parade itself was just superb, as always. Good TV commentaries from all considered, and some good horsey input from Clare Balding - congratulations to her on her OBE

Exactly as TTN says, namely as Royal Colonel of the London Regiment. Not aware why the Earl of Wessex wears the Hodden Grey kilt of the London Scottish rather than the uniform of any of the other companies.
And the Duke of York? He was wearing, rather cleverly in the circumstances I suggest, a Royal Navy tie!

Excellent parade and flypast. Heartwarming to see the Queen enjoying the occasion too.
TTN, Clare is a top notch commentator, in my opinion, and very worthy of her OBE
