Thumbs up Mil accom in NYC?

Does anyone know if there is US military accommodation in New York City that UK personnel can use? I need accom for a 2-week self-funded course - not a jolly, so I want to keep the costs down. PM might be best - thanks in advance. CK

I stayed here once upon a time.

Home | Soldiers', Sailors', Marines', Coast Guard and Airmen's Club

Very nice and a great location.

If you don't mind travelling a bit both the USN and the USCG have lodgings a bit further out.

Fort Wadsworth Guest Quarters

I've never stayed at either of these and I'm unsure whether they will allow non-US military to stay but its worth throwing an email their way to check.

I've stayed in the Coast Guard Lodge on Staten Island (as linked to above). First class room and free breakfast thrown in for about $75 per night (2011 price). It's a straight road drive from the main gate to the ferry terminal (10 mins max) car park ($10 per day) and the free ferry service is frequent. Approx 1 hr from room to the centre of Manhatten. They should take you with mil ID and a NATO travel order.

The Adams Guest House at Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn situated at the Eastern end of the Verrazano Bridge was OK.It's a bit far from Manhattan but inexpensive and reasonably close to the subway

Good choice. It really is a great location and the people who run it are very nice.
