The Reid was (and maybe still is) an annual competition between the northern England UASs (Liverpool, Manchester, Northumbria & Yorkshire).
And a hearty thrashing was dished out by me in 1987!

Aviation 72

I see that Aviation 72 are intending to release a model of XX614.
Checked my logbook and flew it 6 times on my CFS course at Scampton and Cranwell.
Still get the odd trip in a Dog.

The Air-Britain Monograph Book on the Bulldog has XX614 first flight 28 Mar 1974 then delivered to CFS Little Rissington in April 1974. Then moved to Manchester and Salford UAS at Woodvale on 4 Jun 1974 as "1". Stored at Shawbury from 1984-1988 then to the CFS at Scampton in Jan 1989 as "11". To Cranwell in March 95. To Benson with Oxford UAS in January 1996 as "B" To Northumbian UAS in January 2000 as "V" to Shawbury September 2000 for disposal. Sold at auction 24 May 2001 .

XX614 is alive an well now based at Exeter EGTE in the same hangar as my RV9 , currently away on her annual at Oaksey Park. Have flown her 4-5 times in the past year or so and shes a lovely example.

I did my first few trips of my CFS course in 1992 in XX614! Nice little aeroplane and clearly in good hands now!

I don't regret selling XX614, having rebuilt her from scratch but do miss her. Don't miss the monthly expenditure being a single owner (no syndicate). Still flying G-BCUS however.
