More ex-RAAF C130's for Indonesia
In addition to the four C130H aircraft gifted to Indonesia our Federal Government has offered five more C130H's to the Indonesian government at a "mates rates - bargain basement price". Maybe the tampering with the Superannuation taxation rates will help recoup some of the cost of such generosity to those "off-shore". 
I can think of another air force that could use a few more C-130s in the short term, especially for mates rates...

RAAF C130H off to new home
The first of nine ex RAAF C130H is almost ready to leave for service in Indonesa.
Perhaps eventually to join the pile of airframes given at token prices before.
The interesting thing is that thirteen years after also being taken out of service six of the ex RAAF C130E are still serving as front line aircraft with the PAN

Agree, at least NZ would have used them for SAR work 
I don't believe in "giving" things to these countries at "bargain basement prices"
without some sort of written guarantee as to what we get in return.
It all seems to much of a one way street.

Good point Buster, wont need to float far mind, just far enough off shore for the Indonesians to play the "You need to rescue the people on humanitarian grounds" card.
I hope they remember that when operating there "only to be used for humanitarian aid and disaster relief" gifted C130H's

Is that a US stipulation or an Aussie one ? (If true).
Do the US put any restrictions on them when we give them to the Indos
or is it pretty much just approval to give them, no strings ?

Maybe we could have given them some of the Patrol Boats like we just
gave to Sri Lanka, then the Indos would have NO excuse not to search
and Rescue AS boats
Although I reckon the Indos would be smart and say that they don't want them
because they would have to use them !!!

The aircraft in post 11 is the one that ran out of fuel.
FAC airplane captained by a major and the aircraft ran out of fuel, the captain shot and killed the navigator as it was his foul up.
Perhaps it is better to be in Royal prefixed Air Force, as we do not have such a dramatic action for failure of a route check.
Any one know any more

Just to add more fuel to the fire, This aircraft as was found to be carrying illegal exports.
Namely Australian native birds which is a serious export but the two crew members after being questioned have been let go.
Seems like there are two acceptable standards for both countries as crew members and aircraft have been released.
No wonder us western world countries are becoming laughing stock
