Sky News - Afghan Pullout Begins

afghanistan-camp-bastion-equipment-return

I'd be very interested to see how and where they can get a flight for £20K from/to. At the last count C-17s work at about £43k/hr and charters more than that...

Nonetheless, good to see the 'home-straight' approaching (assuming its not an April Fool )

Nice to see a 'soldier' wearing Flt Lt rank tabs and a Royal Air Force badge

A soldier stands in front of the Helmand base's distinctive sign
Good old Sky News

@TheWizard

The media's has always stupidly referred to air force or navy personnel regardless of any nation as 'soldiers' or troops.

Give an example, in the past About Anglia or Look East also quoted "x amount of troops based here or x amount of soldiers". regarding the USAFE bases

Ok then again there are green personnel as part of the Alconbury units operating at JAC and ooop north on the Moors ) And don't forget the army attache at the embassy

Cheers and Happy Easter

p.s hire one of Toulouse's finest - Beluga to help with some of the removal of items

Thanks Chopper,

After 23 years in various shades of light blue, green and purple I was not in the least bit surprised but once again highlighting the lazy standard of journalism that still persists
