C-17 --tactical approach and landing

When starting a tactical approach what is the initial target speed?
Is this speed weight dependant?
What is the order of deployment of slats and speedbrakes and is this done before initiating the descent?
Is the gear also deployed?
I read that it's a no flare landing and that ROD is reduced by temporary increase in thrust. Is this correct and if so how much extra thrust?

Apologies for sounding like a schoolkid just interested and unable to get much info from the web aside from youtube clips.
Any non secret information gratefully received alternatively just tell me to b*g off ..... no problem. Thanks tim
