RAF "Open Pagings" for vacancies ...

Seems that the Service has resorted to using Tw@tter with a LinkedIn paging for the vacancy at RAF Valley for a Media & Comms Officer

Is this now common ?

I've deliberately blurred the originators ID ...

That is the individuals own Tw@tter account, not an official RAF one.
However, Tw@tter is regularly used by the official accounts to advertise FTRS posts.
It is one of the fastest and widest means of reaching a large audience, particularly for people who have recently left the Service and don't have access to internal DIN/DIB.

Well based on his most recent postings about life at Valley at http://www.pprune.org/military-aircr...-ww11-174.html I have every confidence that Danny would be a huge success in this appointment - and I'd certainly like to think that he would be good for three years!

Perhaps, if nobody else wants it, Mark could come out of retirement, yet again, to do the job he has been so good at in the past.

Well, sadly or gladly, despite having 62 years' seniority as a Flight Lieutenant and a chipper 91 years of age, Danny will not be competing with Mark - or anyone else - because to quote Mrs Danny "Not bloody likely - We're not going back into Married Quarters again !" ......
