RAF Bridgnorth and Hitler!

Looks as though Herr Hitler had his eye on Bridgnorth as an HQ

If he'd gone later, it would have been worse; my ex-wife lives there!

Kind of disproves the idea that Adolf stayed in Liverpool with his half brother Alois...........he would have visited Bridgnorth then and quickly be disuaded of the folly of that idea.

Wasn't there some Stately Home in the Midlands that Adolf had his eye on?? Maybe that - wherever it was - would have been a handy commute to Bridgnorth.

Edited to add: Found it! It was apparently Apley Hall in Shropshire - just 7 miles from Bridgnorth.

I've read that Du Cane Court, a massive Art Deco appartment block in Balham, South London was earmarked at the General Staff HQ for the Germans.

And there are still some people who are unaware of Hitler's great sense of humour!

Never got to Bridgnorth, but during the 50's I met a lot of National Servicemen that did their square-bashing there and I cannot remember any of them saying a kind word about the place.
