Rescuers to return to scene of US jet crash on Skye
BBC reporting that men involved in the search for survivors of a US military jet crash 30 years ago are planning to return to the site of the fatal accident.
I visited the wreck site on Sgurr na Stri about 10 years ago, amazed at the amount of aircraft wreckage that was still up there. I posted a picture on the F-111 website and was stunned to receive an e-mail from Major Rudiger`s daughter which really impacted on me just how tragic this event was. Her father had just been promoted to Lt. Col. the week previous to this. He was the lead ops officer on the F-111F Pave-Tac system
