Is this one of those those "spot the mistake" thread titles?

You can almost hear the pilot thinking 'I wonder if anyone noticed?'

That's not low

IIRC, one A Kvochur got in a spot of bother with the display-validating-chaps at Boscombe Down in 1993.

It seems they weren't impressed with his pass down the runway which was measured at 1.3m above the tarmac

Now there was a top display pilot

We used to have real aerobatic displays when I was a kid. Biplanes like Tiger Moths doing crazy flying a couple of feet above the grass. Much more spectator friendly, especially the shooting gallery, where the man in the back seat would stand up and shoot bottles as they flew past a trestle table. And then they would turn in no distance at all and come back to do more.

Yup, picking up hankies with the wingtips, etc.

Remember one at Leuchars going backwards down the runway - so slow the wind speed was greater than the airspeed.

Cargosales. I video'd Mr. Kovchurs low pass, it went straight past me, alongside a landing TU 134. The tailpipes were indeed extremely close to touching. Very spectacular to see, if unnecessarily low. Good memories of a very good show!.
I don't have the technical skills to put the vid on here, but I suspect someone else has it!
The safety people didn't seem to mind that much, 'cos he went straight into his display IIRC. Probably had a word afterwards. As you say, great display pilot!.
