Smile 38 YEARS AND 1 DAY

Oh well after 38 years and 1 day it is my last day in the Royal Air Force. Many happy memories but sad ones as well, no rant from me although the number of politicians that are kidding on that they are senior officers is not good. Highlights - Bruggen 1977 - 1979 the best posting I had, worked hard played hard. Probably the best leader that I have had the fortune to serve under also at Bruggen. To those still in and those about to join there are still many things to enjoy, just not as many as in the past. Take care KPax signing off.

Kpax - Well done and congratulations. Enjoy the pension and I hope you find something suitable to do.

Was at Wilders from 77 to 80 - height of the Cold War, I would suggest. Mini, maxi tac evals galore but 'WHPH' as you said. Best wishes.

Keep reasonably fit Kpax, spend the loot whist you remain so, and ignore politics - you're too old to influence 'owt, and others don't care. Travel, drink, eat, and enjoy those things that have come your way, and those that never did. And take the right vitamins. Each day should be full!

I left 38 years ago....., then into civilian aviation. Retired 12 years ago ( heart attacks, big op) always enjoyed retirement, keep yourself busy and you will enjoy yours.

Ignore the dream where you are back in uniform and you know you have no right to be there and you're going to get found out - just solve the problem they've given you that they can't and wake up refreshed.

Don't worry it only last for 20 years (or maybe more - I, and apparently others, are still counting)

allan, that's spooky - I've had exactly the same dream, twice!

Good luck KPax it's actually more fun than you might expect.
