RAF Odiham Families Day

Apparently it was another very good year at the Odiham Families Day! Anyone go? How was it? Things we miss when we are 'overseas'.......

I am sure everyone worked very hard to ensure the families and friends of those serving had a really fun out, so thank you to all of them, on top of the Jubilee work and Olympics and Afghanistan and etc etc, Odiham is an extremely hard working base, yet the Guys and Girls never fail to dig out and impress! BZ

A top effort all round, thanks Odiham. No News of the World either this year to bring a sour note to the whole affair!

A very enjoyable show, and a great effort by all involved. The flying display was superb, as were the static displays, classic cars, sideshows, etc.

One serviceman commented that changing the day from the usual Wednesday to the Friday before a bank holiday wasn't perhaps the wisest move from the point of view of getting those on the station to attend. This was backed up by as many cars going out the gate as in, during the morning. Many families that I spoke to had come along way to be there, so it must have been better from their point of view not having work the next day though.

Anyway, to reiterate what Crabincab said, RAF Odiham Families day is still here, but the News of the World isn't.

Nice photo's, wait for the image police, they ask you to reduce the size of your photo's to 800 , thats why i don't post images on here any more!

Perfect on mine too but some one on here, not a Mod, kept bringing bit to a Mods attention that I was posting photo's of the same size as these, which all other forums accept & I got warned from a Mod to remove & repost in 800 size, I do all my photo's at 1024 res so now don't post photo's here any more.

Shame really as have had some good photo's to share recently.

Glad everyone enjoyed it! I believe the reason the date/day shifted was because of the Olympics.....but from the sounds of it there was still a decent attendance on the day. I heard the Typhoon was as impressive as ever, how was the rest of the flying display? No Reds this year? Anyone go to the after show party, any good?

In many places on PPRuNe there are 'Pic sizes' that do NOT expand a page laterally, which is annoying if you want to read text with the pics and others narrative

The size we accept as being acceptable to ALL posters is 850x850. They are great pics but re-size please. They fit the page and do not detract from their attraction.

7of9. you can post all the pics you like but for the sake of everyone the size above fits PPRuNe. 1024 is just too wide. Why is 1024 so important to you?

To make them fit you would have to reduce the size of the page but it makes the text is a lot smaller. Like I said we are thinking of everyone!

Thanks.

7of9,
No need to re-size your images. Many image hosting sites allow a smaller image to be posted but with the link to the larger size. If people want to view at a larger size then they can simple click on the image or the link.
