Just think about this scenario boys and girls: T2 is going to be the LIFT for Typhoon (RAF and KSA). Will also be used to prep the KSA F-15 crews. Add a little imagination and you'll see T2s being developed as LIFT for F35 (don't forget Aus are looking at an MLU which gets them a simliar cockpit via a different route).. and to be very very inventive, if pride could be swallowed, Indian Hawks to be developed as LIFT for the Rafale (with a later variant built under licence by Dassault back in the land of the Frog to replace aging Alpha Jets). This would leave a T-X decision much more open than one might expect. There's life in the old bird yet!

I used to work on Hawk T2 at British Aerospace, great aircraft and pleased to see it still being updated and relevant. Spent 12 years there and often wonder what is really left of BAe after many closures etc and redundant designs. What are they working on aside from Typhoon and this new Hawk variant?.
