There was allegedly an honours board in the Officers Mess on South Camp before it was closed and the artefacts transferred to an All Ranks Mess on the East Camp which was formerly the Sergeants Mess. It is further reported that the honours board which recorded all of the casualties who died whilst at Sealand dating back to WWI was promised to the church at Shotwick. Shotwick has a number of WWI UK air force graves and one American one in their graveyard. Flowers are placed on the American one each year.
We are trying to locate the board to try to have it placed in this small church in the beautiful tiny village.
Any information concerning the current location of the board would be gratefully received

Having been a Member of the Officers Mess at RAF Sealand from about 1960 until 1987 as a VR(T) Officer, and then an Homorary Member until the Station closed, I can assure you that no such Honours Board ever existed in the Officers Mess.

I didn't see this reply but thank you for your input. It seems that others have a different recollection and the board offered to the church at Shotwick was a memorial board recording the deaths and tied up with the WWI graves in their churchyard. It was definitely not the board showing the COs which resided in SHQ.
We are now researching to provide a replacement board for the church.
