Oh, just a wee bit ironic, given all the 'thou shalt not self-medicate', no?

Were crews in Theatre not using these as well as 'uppers' due to intense pressures and crewing hours?

Given that the probability of death is 1, I'm not sure exactly how that can be increased by taking sleeping pills (or indeed anything)...

The long term effect of any medication has to be balanced with the short term benifits. Chances are, providing you exposure is limited, you've got more chance of popping your clogs in an RTA. Ban cars shall we?

The docs were handing out sleeping pills during 1982 like they were sweets. Lots of people used them for quite a long time and we all seemed to make it. Mind you, you are all right. We're all going to die!!!

As Bob Monkhouse used to say:

"My father died peacefully in his sleep..... Unlike his passengers who were screaming in terror as his bus left the mountain road."
