MG - not unusual for a skidded eurocopter.
The 350/355 and Alouette II/Lama all have established histories of ground resonance given the right provocation. I've also seen a Gazelle do it.
Shame this event was not caught in time.

Already being discussed on this thread in Rotorheads
All the pilot had to do was pull some collective and lift clear of the ground, or kill the donk and apply the rotor brake. Instead he seems to have done nothing and so risked lives including his own and trashed a perfectly good helicopter.

Anyone who went through pilot training in the late '60s / early '70s would undoubtedly have seen the ancient training film 'Helicopter Mountain Flying' - there was a very graphic clip of an S-51 getting caught in ground resonance before thrashing itself to bits.....

If you have never seen them this is a chinook tearing itself apart in tests, the rear view is erm interesting to see the effect of it.
