Agreed, good effort. Though I have never considered rank or attendance of SARTU as a barrier to excellence.

BZ indeed. Is it me or does the picture of Major RM, CSgt, Cpl and Lt Cdr omit the chap who actually flew the thing?

My point Charlie Time old chap, is that the citation says a Lt by the name of Inglis drove the thing, whereas there doesn't appear to be a Lt RN in the team phot.

Do apologise from detracting from the thread which should obviously be a straight BZ.

With the aid of night-vision goggles they made short work of the 55-mile transit, arriving on scene within an hour of the initial contact – a remarkable achievement.
Did they mean doing 55mph in a Sea King Mk 4 was a remarkable achievement or doing 55mph in the prevailing conditions was a remarkable achievement?
