WO Chris Johnson RIP

It is with great sadness I have to inform this forum of the sudden passing of WO Chris Johnson of the C-17 PT at Wright Patterson AFB, USA. Chris had a long career spent largely as a member of the Harrier force and as WO Eng 617 Sqn prior to his appointment in the US.
There have been few I could count as both an inspirational leader and as a friend. Heartfelt thoughts go out to his wife Susan and family.

This is such tragic news. R.I.P Chris. Much love to his friends and family at such a sad time. I knew him for many years working withing the Harrier Force. What a wonderful man. We did a dreadful Karaoke rendition of 'Summer Lovin' during a Det to Cyprus once, which I shall always remember! Although always the consummate professional...he knew when to down tools and enjoy a laugh with his guys. He was very well liked and respected. Does anyone know what happened? xxxxx

Shocked when I heard this very sad news earlier in the week. I only knew Chris in the work environment and found him to be a gentleman who was very accommodating and easy to get along with.

My thoughts are with his family.

R.I.P Chris

Shocking and sad news. I was a colleague of Chris for quite a few years during his time on the Harrier force and will fondly remember him as a guy who was, charismatic, helpful, funny, kind and very well liked across the rank range. R.I.P Chris, it was a pleasure to know you.

I'm stunned! I knew Chris from Harrier days and have only good memories of an easy going, likeable and switched on guy. RIP mate I'll raise a glass to you today.

Sad news indeed. Spent many a few nights in the bar in Zweisel skiing with Chris. What a nice man and character, he was an inspiration and will be sadly missed.

Susan has asked me to thank you all for your kind messages and to post her email address. Your stories and condolences are a great comfort to her at this time.

I am very sad to hear the news. I enjoyed a night out with Chris and the Wright Pat lads last year.

RIP Chris

A sad loss

A great guy, always happy to offer advice to a confused sailor when I moved up to Wittering. It was a real pleasure working with him.

RIP Chris.
