Re: eyelids

Was I the only one who read that and instantly heard in my mind, "We're off to see the Wild West Show"?

General Steinhoff was an absolute Gentleman. He treated all the staff in the Plastics Unit with great respect and enjoyed conversation with everyone whatever the rank. For those who think that the 'Eyelids' happens to be BS I can assure you that the story is true. I know because I was there

@Cornerstone958:

not meaning any disrespect, as I have the highest regard for Gen. Steinhoff (my dad "knew" him in his Nato days), just meant to say that the skin transplant story as quoted by Foldingwings may have been the more PC version. I don't know as I wasn't there, just remember what he said in a tv documentary I saw some time ago.

Either way, a true character and a joy to read about.

Thanks very much!

Now I'm going to have the chorus of the WWS going round inside my head for the rest of the day; "Winky W*anky bird" an'all.

Regarding the above, my thought was 'sand' so not a million miles away and most appropriate considering where a lot of our lads are.

Oh God, what it's like to be so predictable . . .
