I don't think Torpoint could cope with any increase at Raleigh. Just imagine the carnage at Wheelers and Harbour lights as part 1s on liberty boat mix with the chinos and blazer brigade!

why not have a single centralised body delivering initial training?
Great idea.....as long as it is near the sea for the RN (tidal boat training); near a big field for the Army (playing hide and seek) and an airfield for the RAF. Oh yes, and the answer must be Sandhurst or the Army won't play.

Bismark - as i understand it the intention is for the RM to go into Chivenor, but who knows...

As for BRNC - I doubt it would get closed til the MOD spent a few million on some SLAM buildings and perhaps upgraded a bit of the estate - then it is ripe for closure

When we hear about a new runway being built at Dartmouth then we can be sure the closure will be announced within 12 months of its completion
