Yes as I said earlier, very sad news indeed. And his family and friends would want a lot of comfort right now.

Hit the nail on the head. He was Royal Air Force and part of a team doing an extremely important job under difficult circumstances.
Looking at the Defence News report he threw his soul into everything he did and seeing the comments from his work colleagues says it all really.
Sadly, he was the first to perish on this op and that should not be forgotten, but he may not be the last.
