A friend of mine loved to tell the story of coming off the Thanh Hoa power plant in a Phantom, going as fast as it would go when a Thud joined into pod formation WITH HIS SPEEDBRAKES OPEN!

Another friend said, you rolled in, down the chute in blower, go thru the Mach, pickle off the 6 centerline bombs, throw the rack and the tanks at 'em and head west at 850 KIAS.

Route Packs

The Joint Cheif of Staff Route Packs were designed by civilians back in Washington. We called them all weenies.

We got frag /or a part of a fragmented order for almost every flight direct from DC. Compliments of Robert McNamarra, head weenie.

100 missions north by Ken Bell

Major Ken Bell wrote a real gutsey tale.He did the 100 missions and did them real well. Flew his wing a few times and lead him in once in pack six.
A fine pilot to say the least.

Broughton's wingmen were many!!!

Ken Bell flew Broughton's wing as 2 and 3 a few times and also lead with him on the wing at times. We switched elements all the time.
