I am reliably informed that " In reply queries about the 'pads' in the extreme east. They are post-war and built over the former WW2 Bomb Stores of which much of the road system and three Fuzing Point hut bases survive.
The pads in question were 'cargo' transit points where incoming and outgoing munitions were marshalled for loading/unloading onto trains on the adjacent railway spur (disused)."
