Aviation artists

Afternoon all,

A family friend is retiring from the RAF after some 36 years and the family are very keen on having a painting/drawing done for the occasion. The plan would be to have a collage of aircraft flown with squadron crests of units served on as the border.

Could anyone please either pm me or post on here any aviation artists you may have used or know of that could assist in this quest?

Kind regards,

I would highly recommend Gray Ward. These are all digital art, not photos.

PM sent. The artist in the link I sent you has just done a very similar commission but on 'airlines/airliners flown'

Ah Tiger Mate.

I know who you are now.

One of your prints sits on the wall behind my desk.

Another Pruner. This artist gets my vote.

I've just noticed. My office windows are in that Gazelle painting!

I have 2 of Tiger Mate's works on my dining room wall, an excellent Puma and a very fine Wessex (print no 72).

Tiger_mate, have you got a picture of the Puma one Seymour Belvoir talks of?

Although he does a lot more than aviation these days, Mike Lees is also worth considering. limited edition prints

Congratulations, Ladies and Gentlemen,

As somebody who has difficulty drawing a straight line, even with a ruler in place, I am in awe at your talent.

Please can we set aside the posting rules and have an on-line art exhibition?

I was going to recommend Jindabyne. He captures aircraft well like the Bucc and the Tiffie. But was is that big fat tin triangle?

At the very least the thread is closed. Nice pictures but it does break the rules, Jindi. Its advertising. Leaving this open for a day or so.
