Don't stop at the Gun, get some 'Hogs' out of DM boneyard and get em painted up in RAF colours.

There was an attempt to push the A-10 into Europe:

fairchild | 1976 | 2047 | Flight Archive

With YJ101 (this was before there was an F404) or RB199 (eeks) it would have been faster at the cost of lower endurance.

However, I don't think anyone even nibbled at it, and most people felt that the Hawg would have been MiG chow if the balloon went up.

BTW, I have an A10, Aden 30mm and Mauser 27mm ball round. They weigh respectively 369, 219 and 259 grams.
