Farewell F3

F3 final flypast at Coningsby - a real Health & Safety flypast by a 3 (couldn't even manage a 4) ship - end of another era and type....

3 Ship over Boulmer at 1142, reminiscent of Measles at Mt Kent .

End of an era indeed. Great workhorse and will be missed.

I'll miss it - you don't spend six years working with them without them leaving a mark on you.

That's about as much use as a chocolate fireguard if your BZN way, don't suppose there's any chance they could get a bit 'directionally challenged' on the way to Leeming and do a quick fly over Brize please... I won't tell honest

Well if Fox3WheresMyBanana was the lead Nav, I would guarantee directional confusion. But I am afraid it may well be a pro Nav in the jet, whilst F3WMB is getting lathered about Leuchars and St As!

All the F2's stored at St Athan have long since gone. although a vast majority donated their centre Fuselage sections to the the F3's that were damaged by a certain aviation company during the 25FI programme.

A couple of low level pics of last flights to Leeming. I missed out on the special tails yesterday unfortunately, wrong place at the wrong time and to far from the car when news of an avoid in the lakes reached me.

Once again! Please adjust the size of the pics to NO MORE than 850x850 - PPRuNe's size to fit pages. Thanks.

End of an era.

Great photos of a great aircraft. I didn't even know about the last flights until a week later, nothing in the media, shame. At least parts of the ADV will live on in the remaining GR4s, the Navs hand controller for instance
