Will there be a AFPR this year?
Hi,
Given that we are on a two year pay freeze at the moment, will the Armed Forces Pay Review body be submitting a report this year? If so can we expect to see anything on the rumours of changes to specialist pay?

Of course there will be an AFPR this year. They have to put up the rent on quarters and SLA and cut all allowances and rates just to make sure you get a proper pay cut, as a pay freeze simply isn't enough to motivate the troops to fight in the **** holes of the world.
Flying pay is being cut, especially for ALM's as they only make the tea and open and close doors on helicopters.

2Qs & 4As really:
Qs
1. How late will it be this year?
2. What will be in it?
As
1. TBN - awaiting announcement of severely BAD NEWS (HEADLINE: "Libyan Nukes primed for UK targets" = slip it in on tabloid Pg27)
2A. Nothing in the way of positives (= pay frozen as per 2010)
2B. Lots of increases in charges (= pay down)
2C. Lots of decreases in allowances (= pay down)
Net result: Daily Mail readers vote earlier in the day at next election (unless they can read as far as Pg27!!!!)

See AMP's latest bulletin for some details. Short answer yes there will be a review, now as to what it will recommend we shall have to wait and see. Hopefully they will say what a non government constrained report would have said - or in the words of Jim Bowen "Let's see what you could have won"!!!
