CPL(H) on leaving route?

Hello, I am due to leave the service in 2 years and will not have the magic 2000 hours for the bridging exam (will be about 250hrs short), can anybody advise me of the quickest and cheapest route to attain my CPL(H)? I have been told that I should be able to use my ELC to cover most costs. Am I right in thinking that I would only have to sit 9 exams via a distance learning package and not take the skills test as I am still flying? Thanks in advance.
