A great concept, which has been on the virtual drawing boards for a few years now. Not too sure how UK PLC would pay for it..........or what else would have to be cut to support it.
I guess the Yanks would love to take it over.

Invisible Aircraft Too
Given the cuts that we will have to endure, we will have to resort to invisible aircraft too. The RN carriers will also have invisible aircraft for the first few years.

You joke about "invisible aircraft" but this has also been done in the past in trials by matching the background lighting to the aircraft - ie. removing the contrast. Makes a large FJ aircraft disappear at ranges over 1 mile plus. The reverse of which is why we painted all our training aircraft black, in order to increase the contrast between the aircraft and the background sky. DERA did loads of trials on this in the 90s - believe it or not the light on the front of the Hawk can be counter-productive in a head on encounter against a very bright sky!!!
Still for this 'invisible tank' they are going to have to build in the ability to do 'visible' spectrum, Infra-Red spectrum, Ultra-Violet spectrum and also the RF spectrum. Otherwise the soldier will rely upon their NVGs, visual augmentation systems or GMTI/SAR (good time to save the ASTOR/Sentinel then!) to see these tanks quite easily.

Wonder how long till some Pongo figures out how to play porn films on the side of it LOL.
I could have sworn there was something on 'Michael Bentine's Potty Time' in which tank noises were heard, and the marks of the tracks were left behind, but no tanks seen; I can't find it though...

I have it on good authority that this is a procurement scam. They will charge the MoD for 100 tanks and, when asked to produce them, will say they already have, except that the design is so successful that you can't see them and have to take them on trust.
Come to think of it, isn't that what they usually try and do?
