4 VC10s over Cornwall

1615 this afternoon, 4 VC10s seen over Cornwall in the air-air refueliing area. Looked like they were forming up in box formation. Really amazing- the Crabs working on a Sunday afternoon!!!!

I saw two KC-135s and a pair of B-1s at about that time. Heading SW.

"Really amazing"

You mean that 4 serviceable airframes could ascend towards the heavens at the same time?!

B-1s Rama 21 and 22 transitting back across the pond with KC-135 support from Mildenhall (Quid 91/92/93). Didn't see the third Stratotanker. Wonderful sight against the late afternoon sky.

Definitely not VC10s...

I wondered what they were! As it was a clear sky, the contrails stood out well as they came down the TACAN route to Brize, then on towards Lands End.
